How to choose salon software in India
Choose salon software by testing a complete working day: book a service, handle a walk-in, bill services and retail, record a split payment, and review the customer and staff records. Compare the plan that supports those tasks, not just the starting price.

Start with your daily work
Write down who uses the system: owner, front desk, stylists and accountant. List the tasks they need, the number of outlets and the size of the team. Distinguish essentials from features you may use later.
For appointments, check service durations and variants, recurring visits, blocked time and the waitlist. If a chair, room or machine limits capacity, test resource scheduling as well as staff scheduling. For checkout, try a service plus a retail item and a payment split across cash and UPI.
Look past the headline price
Compare the number of outlets and team seats, the modules included, and charges for extra seats or message usage. Ask whether payroll, purchasing, memberships and stock are included in the plan you intend to buy.
In Shapzo, Starter focuses on the front desk, Growth adds resources, memberships, stock and commissions, and Pro includes payroll and purchasing. The trial uses Growth, so match the trial features you used to your eventual plan.
Use a trial to prove the fit
Enter your actual service menu and tax settings, add the team, and run a booking through to payment. Test a cancellation, an outstanding due and the report you use to close the day. Have a front desk colleague repeat the workflow without help.
Check the available import and export workflows rather than assuming every record can be moved automatically. Review roles, account approval, support hours and cancellation terms before committing. Shapzo reviews business applications and approved businesses receive a 14-day Growth trial without a card.
Separate features from promises
Ask to see a working feature and its documentation. Shapzo has an enabled-business public booking flow, but a booking page does not imply marketplace discovery or Reserve with Google. Marketing campaigns and clinical records are not part of these workflows.
The best fit is the system your team can use consistently, with the limits and total cost understood before the trial ends.
